Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie - VMR 264
“Saving lives on the water”
The holiday season will soon be here and now might be a good time to get your engine serviced, service your lifejackets, check you don't have last year’s fuel still in the tank and join our Radio Club.
Hop across to the right side of this webpage and check out the Radio Club Information and if you like what you read download a Joining Form.
To continue to provide these facilities requires regular fund raising by our members. Please support us when you see us, buy a raffle ticket or a sausage. Donations are always gratefully received.
If you are joining us over the holiday season from North, South or maybe even East get a copy of our Visitor Guide (over on the right again) which contains helpful information for first time visitors to Lake Macquarie.
In addition to our primary role of safety on the water both on the lake and out at sea, Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie provides education for the boating public, including Boat & PWC licence courses, Marine Radio LROCP (Long Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency) and the SROCP (Short Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency) courses.
Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie is available 24/7 for weather reports, radio checks, bridge bookings and assists. We provide a Log on/Log off service for your safety and our NSW Marine Rescue Network will track vessels Coastal Cruising. All our highly trained members are volunteers, whose time is spent manning the 24/7 radio base at Swansea Heads and our rescue vessels at Pelican.
Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie receives limited Government funding through licence and registration levies. Much of our funding still relies on public support from local clubs and businesses, Radio Club memberships and from our members fund raising activities.
